Overcoming Challenges to Create a Seamless Extension of the Indoor Living Space
After the devastating Marshall Fire in late December 2021, this client came to Western Sky Designs for their third project. The goal was to rebuild and create a true extension of the indoor space—one that would be perfect for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.
The biggest challenge during this project was coordinating with the home builder and the delays that resulted from waiting for other contractors. Despite these hurdles, Western Sky Designs successfully navigated the project’s complexities by collaborating closely with the team, ensuring that the space was ready when needed.
The final result is a 1,300 sq. ft. outdoor living space that includes Deckorators Costa multi-width decking with a drainage system, custom-fabricated handrails, and a beautiful Arbors Direct fiberglass pergola. The outdoor kitchen is equipped with a griddle, grill, and built-in Traeger smoker, making it an ideal space for hosting.
Additionally, the downstairs area is arid, offering a fireplace, dry storage, and electrical outlets, creating a versatile space for any season. With NatureKast cabinets and Thermory Iginite siding, the entire space feels like a seamless continuation of the home’s interior, making it perfect for entertaining year-round.
This rebuild didn’t just restore the outdoor area; it created a custom, functional, and stunning space for the homeowner to enjoy with family and friends.
