Western Sky Designs is a small, family-owned company. Brian LaFave is the owner and founder of “WSD”. WSD was founded in 2003 as a side business for Brian as he worked to add additional income to his professional sales career. Business continued to grow over the years and eventually became large enough for Brian to escape his corporate career. In 2013, Brian earned his General Contractors license and the business expanded. WSD went from building fences and decks to completing decks, covers, basements and more.
Today, Western Sky Designs is a full service Residential General Contractor completing high end outdoor living projects such as decks, covers, and outdoor kitchens. WSD also completes residential remodel services such as bathrooms, basement finishing, full remodels, additions, and custom homes.

Brian is a Licensed General Contractor and proud father of two young adults. Brian has lived in Colorado since 1999 after growing up in the great state of Arizona. Born in Michigan, Brian grew up a die hard Michigan Wolverines fan and continues that passion for the BLUE today. Brian is also an avid upland bird hunter and has three beautiful American Brittany’s that he hunt s the uplands with every season. Brian also enjoys officiating HS wrestling, fishing, hiking, and traveling across the globe.
Brad has been with WSD for 15 years and is a crucial part of the company’s growth and success over the years. Brad has grown up in the construction world, starting his career as a trim carpenter. His ability to see a set of plans and a vision and create a beautiful structure is outstanding. He has a wonderful attention to detail and is a true craftsman. Brad is a native Coloradan, he is marred to his wife, Angelina and they have two beautiful kids.
